Solan owes its name to Goddess Soloni Devi, whose temple is in the southern area of the city
Solon is a scenic location in the modern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It was capital of the former princely state of Bhagat. Solon is also known for its Dyer-Meakin Brewery that was founded in 1835 with Anglo-German co-operation.
